Maybe you’ve tried to quiet your mind and increase your emotional balance with meditation but struggled with getting your mind to settle down. In qi gong, you connect your body, mind, and breath into a moving meditation.
It’s gentle pain-relieving exercise: lengthening your muscles and tendons, opening the joints as well as the channel systems of acupuncture, while generating vitality. Each movement brings energy to a particular system of the body: the lungs, liver, heart, spleen, kidney, the seven emotions, and overall energy flow. It’s like a movement-based daily vitamin for your body and mind.
It’s self-healing: Just as an acupuncturist uses needles to balance the qi of the different organ systems in the body, you can help keep your own qi flowing well, open up areas of stagnation, and recharge your own energy by practicing qi gong regularly.
